For backing tracks, Timbro supports mp3 and ogg.

Many imported files contain several tracks, such as lead guitar, rhythm guitar, solos, vocals, piano, bass, and drums. You need to select which one you want to play.

Step 1 Open the tracks for your imported song.
Step 2 Select the track you want.
Step 3 Close the tracks list, and play the song.

Step 3 You can adjust the volume for each track.
Step 4 Make your adjustments. Close the tracks list, and play the song.

You can add the original audio so your imported song uses the real recording alongside the note sheet.

Step 3 If the timing of the notes don't match the audio, you can sync them.
Step 4 Drag the audio so it matches the timing of the first note. Then press Save.
Step 5 If the timing drifts later in the song, you can add more sync points.

Practice drills (🗲) are automatically created at each rehearsal mark in the song.
If there are no rehearsal marks, practice drills (🗲) are made at every 15 seconds in the song.

If you want to modify the rehearsal marks, we recommend this software.
Note that MIDI doesn't support rehearsal marks. If you add rehearsal marks to a MIDI song, you should export it to another file format.

A .timbro file can hold multiple songs.

In Timbro you can save your imported songs to a .timbro file, and open it on another device with Timbro.

If you want to edit a .timbro file manually:

  1. Rename file.timbro to file.gz
  2. Decompress file.gz, which gives you a zip file
  3. Decompress the zip file, which gives you the song folders
Step 1 Open the imported songs list.
Step 2 Tap the "Open File" button, and select your downloaded file.
Step 3 Close the imported songs list.
Step 4 The song is ready to practice and play.
